My name is Kristian and I was born & lived in Romania for 21 years in a native Hungarian family, therefore both my Hungarian and Romanian language skills are native. Starting from a young age I had a passion for English and managed to learn it to an advanced level, obtaining the Cambridge C1 certificate in Advanced English. Aerospace Structures engineer with a focus on programming and a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Received a translator's diploma from the Ministry of Culture in 2020, with 9.12 / 9.25 points out of 10 for English-Romanian / Romanian-English literary translation. I have worked with texts from a variety of fields, including content for several websites, mobile app interfaces, video subtitles (predominantly English to Romanian), short stories and a historical fiction novel (Romanian to English).

After working for several years for different translation companies, as secondary job, offering translations services from English into Romanian, as well as from Romanian into English, mainly technical documents, I decided to offer my services as a freelance translator in Smartcat, as well. Some of the major companies for which I translated different types of documents I can name Kraft Jacobs Suchard, GlaxoSmithKline, Dexion, Kärcher, among sporadic jobs for Romanian companies. You will not be able to find any samples of my work, other than the standard Smartcat sample document, since I have never asked acceptance from my customers to use parts of the translated documents for personal purposes. I've entered the field of translation in 2016 after being involved in other activities after finishing my masters in Translation studies. So, it was somehow going back to my first love. Since that moment translating has become my main activity, working as a freelance translator with agencies and private clients ever since. In this globalized world, when connections are very important in every field, whether we talk about business, travel, private life or medical issue, I feel that translators are that bridge that allow people to get where they need or where they want.
