I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. My main interests remain in the medical/health sciences field, but I am also interested in a variety of other subjects that are not necessarily science related. Hello everyone, my name is Lea. I am a Korean-born German citizen, with a passion for learning languages. Having lived in multiple countries (Korea, France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg), I am fluent in French, English and Korean (my mother tongue), and have an intermediate level of German. I completed a bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma in 2017, and have been studying in Geneva, the French-speaking region of Switzerland. I am currently attending the University of Strasbourg, with a double major in Economics & Management and Foreign Applied Languages (English, German) I have prior experience in online subtitle translating on a video platform, language tutoring, as well as interpreting between Korean and French/English speakers. I enjoy helping others to break down language or cultural barriers, and translating and interpreting has always been a pleasant experience for me.
